Wireless Community Weekend Graz / Austria 2007

This page aims to summarize the B.A.T.M.A.N experiences made at the wireless community weekend 2007 in Graz / Austria. In the preceding week of the actual event an experimental mesh network with 20 nodes has been set up at the excibhition side. The nodes have been scattered over 4 floors and configured with a very small transmission power. This way we achieved rather small cells and routes with up to 7 hops.

Each node of the testbed has been configured to run olsr, batman, and batman-experimental (a highly configurable version of batman, implementing also a number of experimental mechanisms for the core routing algorithm) in parallel. A number of different parametrizations of the batman-experimental routing algorithm have been applied. To compare the quality of the routing algorithms the performance of all three routing protocol has been observed in terms of ping loss and delay.

Snapshots

Snapshot from the experimental in-house mesh topology at the wireless community weekend in Graz 2007. The topology has been generated from the batman-experimental point of view. All nodes run batman-0.2 (netmask 10.15.0.0/16) , olsr-0.5.4pre (netmask 10.14.0.0/16) and batman-experimental netmask 10.16.0.0/16) in parallel.
